Special kit for a special occasion! Mamelodi Sundowns launch Fifa Club World Cup kits

Fifa Club World Cup-bound Mamelodi Sundowns have unveiled their new kit for the global showpiece set to be staged in the United States.

The home jersey has accommodated Sundowns' traditional yellow colours and features a yellow base with mountain blue, green, and white details.

In the case of the goalkeeper jersey, a purple base with yellow and mountain blue details has been implemented.

"Tshwane’s evening sky hits differently. In the PUMA x KIDSUPER collaboration, the Mamelodi Sundowns’ home kit does the same – blending warm, sunlit tones with cooler shades to reflect the club’s signature style," the sportswear manufacturer said about Sundowns' colours.

"The result captures the rhythm, energy, and joy of Sundown’s football, known locally as 'shoeshine and piano'.”

The launch of the new kits has also been done for other clubs sponsored by Puma: Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Al-Hilal, FC Salzburg, Palmeiras, and Monterrey. These clubs will also take part in the Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Club World Cup tournament is a perfect stage for Sundowns for two major reasons: to try and win the global trophy after missing out on the Caf Champions League.

It also gives Masandawana a chance to show the world that indeed they are not only South African and African giants alone, but they are now ready to challenge the big boys from across the world.

Currently in the US for their pre-tournament camp, the Brazilians will start their campaign with a group opening match against Ulsan HD of South Korea on June 17.

A game against Bundesliga's Borussia Dortmund will follow on June 21 before a final group game against Fluminense of Brazil on June 25.
