    WHAT HAPPENED?

Sekhukhune United have confirmed receiving offers for left-back Vuyo Letlapa as interest around the player continues to rise.

This comes as Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are said to be keen on the player, who is also being linked with FK Austria Wien.

The 21-year-old has responded to the transfer rumours.

    WHAT LETLAPA SAID

“When it comes to interest or offers, whether from local or overseas clubs, it motivates me to keep pushing and working hard. Whatever they see in me, I need to ensure they continue seeing it,” Letlapa told FARPost.

“I must not get big-headed because of the interest, but instead I must work harder. It helps me maintain a high performance. If it’s not a done deal, I don’t entertain them until it’s signed and sealed. For now, it’s still rumours, I haven’t signed anywhere. I’m still under contract with Sekhukhune United,” added the former Jomo Cosmos man.

“When I go overseas, if it’s possible, then settling is not impossible. If I get the help that I need, I can do well. I am ready. I believe being overseas, when the time is right, I will go there. It’s everyone’s dream to go overseas. I believe I will, when the time is right.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Letlapa has been on the rise after making it into the Bafana Bafana Cosafa squad after just a season of playing top-flight league football.

However, the chances of him going to Chiefs appear slim after the Soweto giants signed ex-Buccaneers star Paseka Mako and promoted another left-back, Kabelo Nkgwesa, to the first team from the reserve side.

Pirates, on the other hand, have moved in to replace Mako with Nkosikhona Ndaba from Richards Bay.

    WHAT NEXT FOR LETLAPA?

A move away from Sekhukhune cannot be ruled out for Letlapa this current transfer window.

If he stays at Babina Noko, he would have to remain on top of his game and stay in the Bafana setup, plus maintain himself as a subject of transfer interest from bigger clubs.
