    SuperSport United 0-3 Sekhukhune United

Andy Boyeli struck a second-half hat-trick to help Sekhukhune United beat SuperSport United 3-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.

The Congolese forward became the second player to score a hat-trick in the Premier Soccer League this season after Orlando Pirates' Tshegofatso Mabasa.

The result saw Sekhukhune remove Polokwane City from the third spot while SuperSport remained in position 10 after missing out on an opportunity to go fifth on the table and overtake sixth-placed Kaizer Chiefs.

Sekhukhune's next game is against Chiefs on January 19 in Durban.

Marumo Gallants 1-0 Cape Town City

A penalty by Marumo Gallants sank Cape Town City 1-0 at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Saturday.

Edgar Manaka struck from the penalty spot after 12 minutes after Gabadinho Mhango had been brought down inside the box.

The result saw City's two-match winning run of beating Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates come to a halt and they remain sixth on the table as they failed to get into the top-four.

Gallants remained 13th in the standings, but they are now three points behind seventh-placed Cape Town City.

  • Bongani Zungu, AmaZulu, January 2025 AmaZulu

    Magesi 0-1 AmaZulu

At the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, basement side Magesi continued to struggle after being beaten 1-0 by AmaZulu.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu scored his first goal in his maiden start for Usuthu when he struck eight minutes into the second half.

It was a crucial result that lifted AmaZulu from position 13th to ninth while Magesi remain rooted at the bottom of the standings.
