    TELL ME MORE

Following a goalless first half, Golden Arrows veteran defender Gladwin Shitolo took advantage of Kaizer Chiefs' failure to clear the lines in the 56th minute and blasted into the roof past Bruce Bvuma for his first league goal of this season.

It was a match both sides were guilty of missing clear-cut chances but it affected the Soweto giants more as they finished the encounter without finding the back of the net.

For their numerous box entries and opportunities to score, Chiefs ended the match with just one shot on target.

After collecting maximum points with the slim 1-0 victory, Abafana Bes'thende jumped from position 10 to five from where they removed Chiefs who dropped to sixth.

    THE MVP

Apart from grabbing the goal that separated the two teams, Shitolo was also firm in defence and neutralised the speedy Tebogo Potsane.

It was a key contribution by the Arrows captain who helped his team end a three-match winless streak to return to the top eight.

    THE BIG LOSER

Once again it was an uninspiring outing by the Soweto giants who could not build on the midweek win over Stellenbosch.

Making matters worse, Nasreddine Nabi's men were wasteful and the defeat by Arrows again highlighted their need to sign a prolific forward as well as tighten things at the back.

They have conceded in 12 of their 13 PSL games, keeping clean sheets in just one match, which is a big concern for their rearguard.

    WHAT COMES NEXT?

The Soweto giants return to Moses Mabhida Stadium next Sunday to host Sekhukhune United in their third consecutive home match before focusing on the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates slated for February 1.

Arrows, on the other hand, visit TS Galaxy next Saturday for their third straight away game.
