    WHAT HAPPENED?

According to the Daily Mail, Greenwood held talks with the Red Devils' management at Carrington on the first day of the team's pre-season training where he was informed that he would be put up for sale. The English forward is already in talks with several clubs and one possible destination seems to be Marseille in France. Meanwhile, Sancho is also on the market and Juventus are believed to be leading the chase for the £40 million-rated ($51.23m) winger.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Donny van de Beek is another player on the verge of a departure from Old Trafford. The Dutch midfielder is close to finalizing a move to Girona with United ready to accept £450,000, a massive reduction from the £35 million they paid Ajax for his services four years ago. However, the deal includes potential add-ons of up to £16 million ($20.49m) and a sell-on clause. United are also eager to get rid of Casemiro's £375,000-a-week wages with a Saudi Arabian outfit emerging as the frontrunner for his signature.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Victor Lindelof has attracted interest from Fenerbahce, while Galatasaray and West Ham are monitoring Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Scott McTominay has emerged as a target for Fulham and Everton. Despite rejecting a £30 million ($38.42m) offer from West Ham last summer, United might now consider selling the Scotland international as he seeks more regular playing time. McTominay’s potential sale, like Greenwood's, would result in a 100% profit, which is crucial for United's compliance with profit and sustainability regulations.

According to The Mirror, United have entered the summer transfer window with a modest £50 million ($64.03m) budget, which they hope to augment through player sales as Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS continue to oversee a major overhaul. The club aims to bring in two central defenders, with Matthijs de Ligt and Jarrad Branthwaite identified as potential targets. Bologna's striker Joshua Zirkzee and Paris Saint-Germain's midfielder Manuel Ugarte are also on the club’s wishlist.

    WHAT NEXT FOR UNITED?

United's pre-season preparations are well underway, with their first friendly match scheduled against Rosenborg in Norway on July 15. A game against Rangers in Edinburgh will follow. The Red Devils will then travel to the USA for matches against Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool. Upon returning to England, they will face derby rivals Manchester City in the FA Community Shield at Wembley on August 10.
