    Edson Castillo

    The Venezuela international is set to be out for four to five months with a fractured fibula.

    He was injured last Saturday during a Premier Soccer League match against SuperSport United in Polokwane.

    Castillo is set to undergo surgery and the setback comes as he had made himself a regular following a challenging start to the season.

    Themba Zwane

    The veteran midfielder's absence is a big blow for both Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana.

    Zwane could be out for up to six months after going under the knife to repair his ruptured Achilles tendon.

    He was injured while on national duty against Congo-Brazzaville earlier this month and this comes at a time when he was on top of his game.

    At 35 years old it will be a long, tough journey to get back to his best.

    The Nigeria international defender was injured during a league match against Polokwane City on September 24.

    He suffered a tibia fracture and Pirates confirmed he has been "ruled out for the rest of the year."

    It is a big blow for both club and country.

    The Angolan was injured in August before he even made his Cape Town City official debut.

    He tore his anterior cruciate ligament at training and had an operation.

    City then announced Carlinhos would not feature in the first half of this season.

    Lucky not to miss the rest of 2024 - Bradley Grobler & Grant Margeman

    Grobler tore his ACL during SuperSport United's MTN8 quarter-final match against Orlando Pirates.

    He underwent surgery and was ruled out for the rest of 2024 but has recovered earlier than expected.

    The 36-year-old has since started training with Matsatsantsa and coach Gavin Hunt has given hope his striker could start playing soon coming on from the bench.

    Another SuperSport player Grant Margeman also suffered an ACL tear and was predicted to be out for the rest of the year but has started training as well.
