    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs laboured to the Nedbank Cup triumph last weekend after beating traditional rivals Orlando Pirates 2-1.

It was a vital win for the Glamour Boys, who had gone a decade without any major title.

The win reduced pressure for the experienced tactician who had failed to win the Carling Knockout after falling in the quarter-final.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

In the South African summer and January transfer window, the Glamour Boys signed a total of 10 players.

However, they relied heavily on youngsters who struggled for consistency owing to a lack of experience.

Nabi has been insisting he doesn't have the players he wants to compete at the highest level.

The former Yanga SC and AS FAR Rabat coach has now urged the management to give him what he wants or risk losing him.

    WHAT NABI SAID

"I wouldn’t be honest if say that I’m gonna stay if the club doesn’t allow me to get all the tools to succeed next season because they have promised, and myself, I have promised the fans that I want to build a successful team that will compete in every competition to win trophies,” he said on Extra Time.

“That’s the condition for me to stay [at Chiefs] because I don’t feel that I want to go through what I went through this season," Nabi concluded.

    WHAT NEXT?

Chiefs are currently ninth on the PSL table with 30 points from the 26 games they have played.

If they win their remaining two games against Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City, respectively, and hope rivals drop points, then they might make the top eight.
