    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs assistant Cedric Kaze has provided a positive update regarding the availability of the new players for their Premier Soccer League game against Polokwane City at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

Against Stellenbosch, a number of players were missing, but some are set to be available as Chiefs play their second league game of the season.

    WHAT KAZE SAID

“(Pule) Mmodi is back from his suspension; Ethan (Chislett) is available for selection after his paper has been resolved. (Paseka) Mako, as well, is available for selection after being cleared by the medical staff," Kaze told the media.

“I think that we are in a very good space for tomorrow. Good thing, we didn’t have any injuries from last game or any suspensions, and we’re going to have a couple of players back," he added.

    WHAT IS MORE

The former Young Africans SC head coach acknowledged their weakness experienced last season but hopes it is not going to recur.

“It’s our first home game in front of our fans, and we know what we’ve been lacking last season, the consistency, which is why tomorrow’s game for us is very important.

“We are very focused—the players, the technical staff, and the management—we know the importance of tomorrow’s game."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Chiefs are back in action after their opening PSL victory against Stellenbosch. Amakhosi, who finished ninth last season, outmanoeuvred their opponents, who were miles away in third, at the conclusion of last season.

Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef are going to be in charge again as their boss, Nasreddine Nabi, attends to a family matter back in Tunisia.

When Youssef is always in charge, Chiefs have been winning, and it is this stat that they hope to gain confidence from when they tackle Rise and Shine.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHIEFS?

The match against Polokwane City is Amakhosi's first home game this season.

Last season, Polokwane City managed to snatch a point against the Glamour Boys after holding them to a 0-0 draw.
