Has Elias Mokwana completely shut the door on a Kaizer Chiefs transfer? Agent opens up on Bafana Bafana and Esperance winger's top priority

Elias Mokwana has just returned from the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where Esperance failed to go beyond the group stage.

Although there were no outstanding displays from him, this was a tournament that further spruced up his image.

The 25-year-old continues to be with Kaizer Chiefs, and the winger's agent, Pontsho Madumo, outlines his player's ambitions.

"We're happy as Cream Sports Management with the progress of the boy, I mean the past four years he was playing in the ABC Motsepe League and now he's playing at the Club World Cup," Madumo told Soccer Laduma.

"We're happy. We wish with his performances [at the Club World Cup] will attract scouts and for him to get an overseas team. We're very happy and we wish him all the best."

After tasting action at the highest stage of club football in the world, it is understandable that Mokwana's urge to go to Europe increased.

For a player who was at the FIFA Club World Cup and has been playing CAF Champions League football, returning home to play for Chiefs appears tricky.

However, big-spending Mamelodi Sundowns seems like a club that can lure Mokwana back to the PSL and have him abandon his European dream.

Following an impressive debut season at Esperance in which they won a domestic treble, a move to Europe by Mokwana this transfer window cannot be ruled out.

But in the event he remains at the club, he would want to further improve himself and enhance his chances of going overseas.
