    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The report suggests that Chelsea have set their valuation after considering Manchester United's £72 million signing fee of Rasmus Hoijlund in the previous summer as a benchmark. They have also taken into account Brighton's £100m (€116m/$126m) valuation of Evan Ferguson while setting their demands. While it was initially suggested that Chelsea would only allow Broja to leave if a new forward was signed, the club may reconsider its decision if a potential buyer is ready to meet the asking price.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Broja has scored just once in 13 Premier League appearances for Chelsea this season. His only other goal in the current campaign came against Fulham in the FA Cup.

    WHAT NEXT?

Broja, who scored two goals for Chelsea this season, signed a six-year contract in September 2022, giving the club flexibility and no immediate pressure to sell him below their valuation. If Broja indeed leaves Stamford Bridge, the Blues are expected to pursue a replacement in attack. However, the return of Christopher Nkunku from injury and Nicolas Jackson from the Africa Cup of Nations will hand Pochettino a boost in options.
