    WHAT HAPPENED?

Mamelodi Sundowns recently parted ways with midfielder Sipho Mbule, together with utility star Rivaldo Coetzee.

Mbule, who spent last season on loan at Sekhukhune United, has been rumoured to have attracted the interest of Kaizer Chiefs despite some disciplinary reports about him.

The player's agent, Mike Makaab, has opened up on the rumours linking the player with Chiefs.

    WHAT MAKAAB SAID

“I don’t know where the talks that Sipho Mbule is going to Kaizer Chiefs are coming from. All I can tell you is that the rumours are not true,” Makaab told FARPost

“As I said, there hasn’t been any formal approach from any team about the services of Mbule. So we’ll look at all the best possible options to get him a club.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

After being released by Sundowns, Mbule missed out on an opportunity to go to the Fifa Club World Cup.

That could mark a negative turn in his career as he will not be able to showcase his talent on a global stage.

He will now be hoping reports about his discipline will not affect his hunt for a new club.

    WHAT NEXT?

Although Mbule's agent denied Chiefs' interest in his player, the Soweto giants cannot be entirely ruled out from pursuing the player as the transfer period is still in its early days.

Mbule, on the other hand, will be busy searching for a new home before most clubs conclude their transfers.
