Barcelona’s attacking options

This calendar year alone, Barcelona have scored 51 goals in La Liga. With 19 games played in 2025, they got a goal difference of +34, conceding only 17. Flick has a wealth of attacking options at his disposal, and they scored 26 times in their last 10 games alone.

Looking at individuals, last season Robert Lewandowski got 42 goals in all competitions. Meanwhile, Raphinha got 34, and Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo all hit 12+. Now they’ve added Marcus Rashford into the mix, and you’d expect him to get in on the action as well.

They’ve obviously got issues, such as Lewandowski’s current injury and concerns over Rashford’s registration for the time being, but they’ll get sorted. Flick sets his teams up to be aggressive and attacking, and that won’t change. Plus, their younger players have another year of experience, which could make them even better.

It’s only pre-season, of course, and the opponents weren’t of the same standard as La Liga, but Barca just scored 20 in four games. Lamine Yamal scored a brace in the 5-0 rout of Como in the Joan Gamper Trophy, while 10 others also found the net this summer. This bodes well for their campaign ahead.

Whether it’s individual games, individual players or total goals scored - backing Blaugrana on the goals front seems like good value.

Barca’s first victims

The Catalans get their 2025/26 season underway with back-to-back away games against Real Mallorca and Levante, respectively. Mallorca haven’t beaten them since 2009, losing 16 of their 18 meetings, while Levante haven’t done so in almost six years. Hence, the visitors are clear favourites in both encounters.

Due to the aforementioned problems with Lewandowski and Rashford, Torres is likely to lead the line. It’s possible he’ll be the most likely scorer in the opener. He was on target in Barca’s 5-1 triumph at Mallorca last season, so he will be desperate to add to his Blaugrana tally this weekend.

After visiting Mallorca’s Son Moix, Barcelona head to Estadio Ciudad de Valencia, where they’ve scored three times in consecutive trips. Flick has his eyes set on a good start, and the team are capable of dominating from the first whistle. As reigning champions, expectations are high, but they’ve got the quality to stand up to the challenge.

When it comes to individual goalscorers, Yamal came out on top in pre-season with four goals, but Lewandowski is expected to take control upon his return, even at 36. He got 27 in La Liga last season, 19 the year before, and 23 in his debut campaign in 2022/23 - so he’s not slowing down.

Ultimately, however, Barca’s goals could come from anywhere. They had 16 different goalscorers in their 2024/25 league campaign, and they’re set to trouble Spanish defences once more this season.
