Mamelodi Sundowns took on FC Platinum of Zimbabwe as Pitso Mosimane's chargers prepare for the resumption of the league season

With Mamelodi Sundowns gearing up for what will be a terribly congested remainder of the season, the club has been on a rigorous training camp in Rustenburg.

In order to prepare for the resumption of the season, the Pretoria-based outfit took on Zimbabwean side FC Platinum in a friendly match.

Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane used the game as a way of assessing all his players as he fielded two different sides on each side of either half. Ugandan goalkeeper Denis Onyango and Khama Billiat are yet to return from international duty and this allowed Pitso and his technical team to play with new combinations. The match also saw Algerian trialist Fares Hachi given a run as he hopes to win a deal at Chloorkop. The former ES Setif defender played the entire first half as both teams went into the break deadlocked.

The second half saw the introduction of players such as Leonardo Castro and Sibusiso Vilakazi. The Colombian would eventually get onto the scoresheet as he grabbed the opening goal of the game. The Zimbabwean side would, however, snatch an equaliser late on.

The result would be meaningless, as Mosimane looks towards the future and attempts to find a replacement for the newly departed Downs talisman Keagan Dolly.
