Maersk Group wins inaugural Left Foot league in Mombasa

Maerk Group came twice from behind to beat Total Kenya Limited 4-3 and clinch Left Foot Sports league for Mombasa edition over the weekend.

Maersk Group needed a draw to top the league but instead, won the closely fought contest courtesy of goals from Juma Zuma (1), Ibrahim Abdallah (2) and Bradley Onyango (1).

Charles Kim, Boston Nyaslika and David Okello scored for Total Kenya. Texas Alarms Limited came second as the league concluded while Trandewinds Aviation Services finished third.

Emmanuel Wafula Chebukati finished as the top scorer with 11 goals, Delfy Kasongo of Tradewinds Aviation Services won the MVP Award while Juma Zuma of Maersk Group came second in the MVP category.

The oldest player award went to Omar Abdilahi of SeaBulk Limited, Mwachama Mwazula of Tradewinds Aviation Services won the best keeper award while Consolbase Limited were crowned the Most Disciplined Team.

The league attracted a total of nine teams including Maersk Kenya, Total Kenya, Bamburi Cement, Sea Bulk Ltd, Consolbase Ltd, Tradewinds Aviation Services Ltd, Kitchen King Ltd and Texas Alarms Ltd. The next edition will commence in March, 2018.
