Former U.S. international Freddy Adu will not move to Polish club Sandecja Nowy Sacz after the team's manager expressed his anger at the midfielder's possible arrival.
The 28-year-old Adu, who was once considered the brightest prospect in American soccer history, was in Poland for a trial before the deal fell apart.

Sandecja manager Radoslaw Mroczkowski was not happy about the possibility of Adu joining his team, a move that he considered a marketing ploy.
"It's a joke," Mroczkowski told Polish website Sportowefakty.pl. "I read in the media about his trial. I asked the sporting director [Arkadiusz Alexander] why he did not tell me anything [about Adu]. After all, he sent me a text message that there 'will be a player on trial' and that they all knew. Marketing knew, the staff at the club knew. Only the coach did not know who the trialist was."

Mroczkowski added: "Whoever invited him, let him trial him. What is the point of having such a player? The CEO says that it's marketing. We may as well have (soccer freestyler) Janusz Chomontek."
Following Mroczkowski's comments, Adu took to Twitter to announce that any potential deal was off.
Adu went on to discuss his future in an additional set of tweets, saying: "Some people might try and spin this as a bad thing but I see it as a good decision because I do not want to be in the middle of this!
"I've been used by too many people over the years for publicity and exposure and I am determined not to let that happen anymore!"
Adu has not played professionally since leaving the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL in 2016. He has played for 13 different teams in eight different countries during a disappointing career.
This was not the first time Adu had been linked with the Polish side, as Goal reported he was weighing an offer from the club in March.
Adu trained with the Portland Timbers earlier this year, but the MLS side opted not to sign him to a contract.
