Churchill Brothers sign Khalid Aucho; retain Dawda Ceesay, Hussein Eldor, Willis Plaza

Churchill Brothers have signed defensive midfielder Khalid Aucho as a free agent after East Bengal refused to offer the Ugandan a fresh contract after the Super Cup. Along with Aucho, Trinidadian forward Willis Plaza, defender Hussein Eldor and midfielder Dawda Ceesay have been retained by the Goan outfit, Goal can confirm. 

Meanwhile, defender Osagie Monday and midfielder Bektur Talgat Uulu have been released by the Red Machines. 

"Yes we have signed Khalid Aucho and retained Ceesay, Eldor and Plaza," confirmed Churchill Alemao. 

Churchill Brothers, who were relegated from the I-League, had pulled off a stunning win over Delhi Dynamos in the qualifying round of Super Cup but later succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Mohun Bagan.

Aucho put in a good shift with the Red and Golds in the Super Cup but was released on the advice of the technical committee of East Bengal. Aucho made his international debut for Uganda against Rwanda in a 1-0 victory at the 2013 CECAFA Cup. He has 36 caps for his country and has scored two goals. 

He has formerly brought in by Red Star Belgrade, a team that plays in the Serbian Superliga. Post signing for Red Star, he was immediately loaned out to OFK Beograd until the end of the season. He has also plied his trade in South Africa and Kenya.
