AFC Leopards Team Manager Gilbert Selebwa has challenged the greater Ingwe family to stop sideshows and work together to improve the team.
Selebwa, who has been accused by a section of the Executive for being a ‘hindrance’ to the team’s success this season, said that it is only through teamwork that Ingwe can break the 18-year jinx of the ever elusive KPL trophy.
Selebwa’s character was extensively discussed during the club’s last Nec meeting after one of the officials accused him of being a bad influence in the technical bench.
But in what could be interpreted as a rejoinder to the accusations, Selebwa came out with a passionate appeal to ‘people, who would want to see our team go down into the doldrums of oblivion’ to work together for the success of Ingwe.
“There are people that are around us who would want to see our team go down into the doldrums of oblivion. They will try to cause discomfort to our current leadership, to the Technical Bench and by extension to the playing unit in order to achieve their selfish interests.

“We should all change our animosity towards each other and support one another, appreciate one another, encourage one another," said Selebwa in a statement obtained by Goal.
“Let’s stop destroying each on all media platforms and instead let’s build one another with love and peace amongst ourselves."
Selebwa also called on the office to make a few signing in the June transfer window to strengthen the squad under Coach Rodolfo Zapata.
“We only need to beef up the team in areas that we feel wanting and we shall live to witness many memorable moments with this current team in the very near future. We are building a monster of a team that will be difficult to beat in the near future."
AFC Leopards are sixth on the log and will next face Thika United in Thika.
