Khonkaen United FC Overview

South Africa may have unearthed another attacking gem in the Chicago Fire winger after the youngster enjoyed a dream debut for the national team. The 22-year-old wasted no time making his mark on the senior stage, offering a glimpse of why there is growing excitement around his potential under Pitso Mosimane.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach watched his experimental side grind out a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Pharaohs in Cairo, with Puso Dithejane’s second-half strike proving the difference. The win also marked a flying start to the 62-year-old tactician’s return, with Mosimane now boasting three victories from the three matches played under his guidance.

Sipho Chaine may have helped Bafana Bafana to a historic clean sheet against Egypt, but the Orlando Pirates goalkeeper is facing serious questions over his long-term international credentials. Former South Africa midfielder Jabu Mahlangu believes the shot-stopper lacks the technical attributes required to dethrone current captain Ronwen Williams.

Head coach Pitso Mosimane made several changes to his starting line-up for the friendly encounter as he looked to test the depth of his squad and give some of his fringe players an opportunity to stake their claim. The changes appeared to pay off as Bafana Bafana produced a disciplined performance to secure victory.
