Robles joined the Red Bulls in August 2012 on a free transfer after spending four seasons in Germany, playing in the Bundesliga and second tier. He made his first appearance for the Red Bulls on Sept. 29, 2012, a 4-1 win over Toronto FC, and has started every game for the club in MLS since — a record 157 straight contests.

"We are pleased to reach new terms with Luis," Red Bulls sporting director Denis Hamlett said in a news release. "Luis has been an important part of our club on and off the field, and we look forward to continued success with him as our goalkeeper."

The 33-year-old goalkeeper backstopped two Supporters' Shield-winning sides, in 2013 and 2015. He earned MLS Goalkeeper of the Year honors in 2015.

In addition to his league honors, Robles is the Red Bulls' franchise leader in wins, minutes played, games played, shutouts and goals against average.

Per league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
