Kaizer Chiefs working on swap deal involving Emmanuel Letlotlo and Talent Chawapiwa

Goal has exclusively been informed that a swap deal involving Kaizer Chiefs striker Emmanuel Letlotlo and Baroka FC attacking midfielder Talent Chawapiwa could be on the cards.

Amakhosi have been linked with the Zimbabwean player for some time now, and while both parties have kept it away from the public, it looks like a lot is happening behind the scenes.

"Letlotlo could be used to sweeten the Chawapiwa deal. He is already with Baroka after they requested to assess him before making any commitments," the source told Goal

"However, both teams are eager to finalise this deal as soon as possible," added the source.

Football manager Bobby Motaung confirmed a few weeks ago that Letlotlo will be sent out on loan ahead of the new season.

However, at the time, he couldn't disclose the names of the teams that were keen on taking the dimunitive striker on a season-long deal.

The source said Chiefs are hoping to strike a similar deal which saw them sign Kabelo Mahlasela from Bloemfontein Celtic at the start of the year.

In January, the Glamour Boys offered Lorenzo Gordinho to Celtic on a 12-month loan deal. The deal then paved way for Mahlasela to move to Naturena on a permanent basis.

"They want to strike a similar to that of Mahlasela and Gordinho, and it looks promising, although the Chawapiwa part is yet to be finalised," concluded the source.

Chiefs have already made four signings, bringing in goalkeeper Virgil Vries, attackers Khama Billiat and Andriamirado Andrianarimanana as well as full-back Letlhogonolo Mirwa.
