EXTRA TIME: How South Africa reacted to Hugh Masekela passing away

Here's how a few members of our soccer fraternity and the public at large reacted to the sad news on Tuesday morning

Hugh Masekela is regarded as the father of South African jazz. He was a trumpeteer, flugelhornist, cornetist, composer and singer.

He passed away at the age of 78 and his family announced his passing with the following statement:

"After a protracted and courageous battle with prostate cancer, he passed peacefully in Johannesburg, South Africa, surrounded by his family."
