Datuk Yusof Mahadi who is the Vice-President of MUSA, told Harian Metro that the terms have been set and both parties have agreed to it. What is currently pending is only the for both parties to sign off on the agreement.

"Today [Saturday], we received a text message from Eric Williams to MUSA official stating his agreement to accept the offer of three months salary payoff as well as rejecting the option to handle the Gold Cup or President Cup squads."

"Williams wants the payment in cash and a one-way flight to Australia," said Yusof.

There were rumours that Williams had intended to lodge a complaint to FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) due to the manner in which he was dismissed but latest developments could see that notion being put to bed.

MUSA has hired Portuguese Eduardo Almeida to replace Williams following poor results in the first half of the season that saw Melaka languishing in the bottom half of the table.

Yusof had last month told the press that while he valued Williams' capability to handle the team, he had to make the difficult decision to change because of the consternation between the players and Williams.

Melaka handed Malaysia Under-22 a 5-1 thrashing in a friendly match played earlier this week, with Almeida at the helm. They will resume their domestic duties with an away match against PKNS FC in the Super League on 1 July.
