Even at the peak of his powers, Bastian Schweinsteiger was never noted as a goalscoring midfielder, yet in the twilight of his career he appears ready to transform his game in the MLS.

Having played three matches for the Chicago Fire, he now has a couple of goals to his credit.

The 32-year-old opened his account on his debut against the Montreal Impact and added another to his tally on Saturday against the New England Revolution. 

It was a superbly taken goal, as he gathered possession just outside the box, taking a deft first touch that allowed him to drift by a couple of challenges before sending an angled shot into the net.

The Fire picked up a 3-0 win that means they are undefeated since the veteran Bayern Munich and Manchester United man debuted.
