"We are in talks with Bobby," Hamburg sporting director Jens Todt told Sport Bild. "We are interested in keeping him for a longer time, and adjusting his contract accordingly."

Todt added: "We are working on tying him to the club as long as possible"

Wood has scored nine goals for Hamburg in all competitions this season.

On the international level, the Hawaii native has established himself as a starter for the United States. He has three goals in eight appearances during World Cup qualifying.
