CHAN star Ayoub El Kaabi completes record move to Hebei China Fortune

Morocco top-flight club RS Berkane have confirmed the departure of Ayoub El Kaabi to Hebei China Fortune in a record deal.

The 25-year-old joined the Chinese Super League outfit side for a reported fee of $7 million [£5.3 million/€6 million] after agreeing a two-and-a-half-year deal that will see his former club profit 30% from his future sale.

The Morocco international attracted interest from Zamalek but the Egyptian Premier League side were prized out by of the deal by Chris Coleman's side.

El Kaabi broke to stardom at this year's African Nations Championship in Morocco where he guided his country to triumph. He was named the best player of the tournament and the highest goalscorer of the tournament after notching nine goals in five games. 

El Kaabi was a member of the Atlas Lions' squad to the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia and managed two appearances before their early exit at the group stage. He is set to feature alongside Ezequiel Lavezzi, Javier Mascherano and Cote d'Ivoire international Gervinho at his new club.

"Ayoub El Kaabi will join the ranks of Hebei, which includes Lavezzi, Mascherano and Gervinho after signing a two-and-a-half-year contract for his first professional experience outside Morocco.,” RS Berkane wrote on Facebook.
