Saudi Arabia wants Liverpool's stars! Goalkeeper Alisson joins Mohamed Salah as priority transfer target for Saudi Pro League

Per <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/may/15/mohamed-salah-and-alisson-among-saudi-pro-leagues-top-transfer-targets" target="_blank">The Guardian</a>, Saudi Pro League clubs are again targeting a major spell of investment, having spent over £750 million ($950m) last summer. Salah was targeted last time out and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/will-mohamed-salah-join-al-ittihad-in-2024-saudi-pro-league-chief-fuels-transfer-talk-liverpool-star-personal-favourite/blt0655a2529b8ed952" target="_blank">Al-Ittihad tabled a bid worth £150m ($190m)</a>, although it was rejected by the Reds.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Saudi clubs are willing to try again for the Egypt international, and with his contract expiring next summer, Liverpool may be more receptive to an offer. Alisson has also been earmarked as a potential target, although he is protected by a contract that runs until 2027. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/casemiro-shown-door-manchester-united-benfica-starlet-joao-neves-brazilian-set-saudi-arabia/bltb1e0d8de607968ab" target="_blank">Casemiro</a> and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/cristiano-ronaldo-reunion-raphael-varane-mega-deal-saudi-pro-league-al-nassr-man-utd/bltb799236e1494a543" target="_blank">Raphael Varane</a> at Manchester United are also being eyed for potential moves, with the latter <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/raphael-varane-confirms-man-utd-exit-video-reveals-what-he-thinks-about-sir-jim-ratcliffe-ineos-disastrous-2023-24-season/blt754aaa235558d94e" target="_blank">announcing his exit from Old Trafford</a>.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Salah has endured a slight dip in form this season. Having netted 30 goals and provided 16 assists in all competitions last term, he has mustered 39 goal involvements this term. Liverpool have won the Carabao Cup <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/liverpool-week-from-hell-jurgen-klopp-flaccid-anfield-finale/blt3aae6f6dea230094" target="_blank">but have faced disappointment in the Premier League and the Europa League</a>.
