Roma's Serie A game against Udinese was abandoned on Sunday after <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-sg/lists/roma-evan-ndicka-collapses-pitch-pain-chest-udinese-agree-abandon-serie-a-clash-frightening-incident/blt4e9fcc4d8e9879a7" target="_blank">Ndicka collapsed with chest pain and was strechered off the pitch</a> and taken to hospital. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-sg/lists/evan-ndicka-serie-a-collapse-not-caused-by-heart-attack-roma-star-daniele-de-rossi-squad-visit-hospital/blte7855095551ff878#cs7ea297e565dffe8e" target="_blank">Ndicka subsequently underwent tests</a> where it was determined he had not suffered a heart attack, but had suffered <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-sg/lists/roma-update-on-evan-ndicka-released-from-hospital-terrifying-collapse-udinese/bltff4e54e71f7d4a43#csaf6acf1fab8af352" target="_blank">"chest trauma with minimal left pneumothorax."</a>

WHAT HAPPENED?

The 24-year-old was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-sg/lists/roma-update-on-evan-ndicka-released-from-hospital-terrifying-collapse-udinese/bltff4e54e71f7d4a43#csf368d8a45491051d" target="_blank">discharged from hospital on Monday</a> to continue his recovery back in Rome. De Rossi has offered an update on his condition and spoken of his relief that he has not suffered a serious heart issue as was first feared.

He told reporters: "He's doing well. A collapsed lung is a painful thing but luckily, if we can say that, he's not suffering from what we feared when he collapsed on the pitch."The Roma boss also addressed the decision to abandon the game, adding: "It's what had to be done, it was an unanimous decision, a normal one even. None of my players were ready to restart the match because the electrocardiogram (done at the stadium) suggested that he had suffered a heart attack."

WHAT DE ROSSI SAID

Roma return to action on Thursday in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie against Serie A rivals Milan. The <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/christian-pulisic-ac-milan-europa-league-roma/blt5fd14f14124624a3" target="_blank">Giallorossi hold a 1-0 lead from the first leg at San Siro</a>. Meanwhile, Ndicka will continue his recovery but no date has yet been set regarding when he will return to training with Roma.
