The Liga MX side has an agreement with the Spanish top-flight club with an emphasis on exchanging and developing youth players.
“We met with a number of clubs in the Spanish league,” explained Jaguares director Arturo Villanueva in a press conference on Thursday. “We formed a very good relationship with Valladolid, and we can both mutually benefit from the sporting exchange.”
The focus of the deal, which was initially struck two weeks ago, will be on the exchange and development of youth players and on Jaguares gaining experience in that field from the Spanish club, which currently sits in 14th position in La Liga.
“The contract is done, and the program is going to start from next summer,” Villanueva said. “We’ll have exchanges of players as well as trainers.”
The Jaguares director added that Valladolid is in a healthy financial state, highlighting that it is one of the five best financed club’s in La Liga.
“I think it’s an important step for our club,” Villanueva said.
