The 27-year-old thinks that the team will improve before its Euro 2012 opener against Germany and refuses to rule out the possibility of winning the tournament

Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo believes that his side has the quality to make an extended run at the European Championship.

The Seleccao head into the tournament on the back of a worrying three-game winless streak following Saturday's 3-1 defeat against Turkey in their last pre-Euro friendly.

However, Ronaldo is confident that Portugal will up its game in Poland and Ukraine and called on his teammates to show a reaction in the first match against Germany, on Saturday.

"This team has the potential to win something important, and the things that we are missing will appear at the Euros," Ronaldo told SIC. "We will give our best against Germany, we will run from the first to the last minute and I hope that things will go well."

After its opener against the Mannschaft, Portugal will tackle Denmark and Netherlands in its final group matches.
