  • After that result, Atletico go clear at the top of the Group G table with six points while Porto stay second on three. Despite this result, both these sides will still be confident of progressing to the knockout stages. For now, though, I've been Tom Maston and thanks for joining me.
  • And that's it! Second half goals from Godin and Turan have led Atletico Madrid to a surprise 2-1 win over Porto in Portugal. Martinez's first half strike looked to have set a tone for the evening but whatever Simeone said at half-time certainly had the desired effect.
  • 90' + 4'
Into the final minute of stoppage time and Atletico have a throw in the Porto half. If they keep the ball they win...
  • 90' + 2'
Porto are doing all they can to get the ball forward but Martinez, who was so good in the first half, cannot be found. Looking like an away win.
  • 90'
We are into four minutes of added time. Atletico holding firm at present.
  • 89'
    SubstitutionEliaquim Mangala Nabil Ghilas
  • 88'
What a turnaround this has been! Atletico looked down and out in the first half but have been much improved since the break. Can they now hold on for a surprise three points?

    GoalArda Turan
GOAL!!! Brilliant from the Spanish side as Gabi again takes the free-kick short, this time to Turan. The winger has peeled off his man and has time to fire past Helton. The Porto players appeal for offside and it is mighty close. Simeone doesn't care though and goes wild on the touchline. The visitors lead!
  • 85'
    Yellow CardEliaquim Mangala
  • 85'
Cristian wins a free-kick right on the edge of the Porto box. Mangala is booked for a trip and this is an opportunity for the visitors.
  • 83'
Gabi takes a free-kick short to Felipe who then whips in a cross from the left. Koke gets in front of his man but his header is well off target. Both sides pushing for victory here.
  • 81'
Alex Sandro wins a corner on the left which in turn is swung in towards Mangala. The centre-back wins it in the air but is penalised for a push. His header flies harmlessly over anyway.
  • 79'
    SubstitutionRaúl García Oliver Torres
Final change for Atletico as Garcia is helped from the field and Torres replaces him.
  • 78'
Atletico win a corner as they continue to press for a winner. It is swung in from the right and Miranda wins it at the near post. His header is just too high though and Porto again survive.
  • 76'
Helton may have been at fault for the visitors' goal but he has kept the scores level here with great save with his feet. Garcia was played in as Otamendi stepped up but couldn't find the back of the net.
  • 74'
    SubstitutionLéo Baptistão Koke
Second change for Atletico as Baptistao is replaced by Koke.
  • 72'
Quintero ignores the cries to shoot from the crowd and instead clips a pass out to Defour. The Belgian controls the ball and attempts to hook it into the box, but loses his balance and hands the ball straight to Juanfran as the attack breaks down.
  • 70'
JUST WIDE!! With his first kick of the game, substitute Quintero thumps the ball towards Courtois' side of the goal but sees his attempt shade the outside of the target. Stinging effort there.
  • 68'
    SubstitutionLucho González J. Quintero
  • 68'
A free kick is conceded on the edge of the area and Porto have a fantastic chance to test Coutrois from 20 yards...
  • 66'
Otamedi goes close for the home side with an effort from distance but his shot whistles wide of the target. That is as close as the hosts have come to regaining their advantage.
  • 63'
Juanfran picks up a booking for a rather late challenge on Lica just inside his own half. The Portuguese shifted the ball away from the right-back and he ensured that he would not be getting back on the end of it with a cynical challenge.
  • 62'
    Yellow CardJuanfran
  • 60'
    SubstitutionJosue Licá
  • 59'
Atletico's tails are up as Turan pops up in the middle of the park and fires in a low shot from distance. Not enough power behind it though and Helton holds on with ease.
  • 58'
    AssistGabi
  • 58'
    GoalDiego Godín
GOAL!!! Helton has been caught out before this evening and this time it has cost his side. Gabi whips in a free-kick from the right and Godin makes amends for losing Martinez for the opening goal by heading into the empty net. Game on!
  • 55'
    Yellow CardTiago
First Atletico booking of the night as Tiago tugs back Defour in the middle of the park.
  • 55'
Atletico showing much more endeavour but are yet to really test Helton. One wonders how long it will be before we see Koke.
  • 52'
A first strike in anger of the second period as Felipe picks the ball up on the halfway line and charges towards goal before unleashing a drive from 25 yards. His effort is deflected just wide of the post before Helton punches the resulting corner away.
  • 51'
A quiet first few minutes in the second period as both sides look to find their feet again. You get the feeling already the hosts are happy to sit on their lead given the lack of potency from the Spanish side.
  • 49'
Atletico have certainly started the second half better than they did the first, but they still lack that killer instinct up front with no Costa. Too easy for Otamendi and Mangala thus far.
  • 47'
Danilo has done well coming forward, and he again poses a threat as he cuts inside from the right and fires in a low shot that is deflected behind. The resulting corner is easily caught by Courtois.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionDavid Villa Cristian Rodríguez
Cristian Rodriguez has been brought on at half-time, with David Villa replaced. The vistors have got us underway in the second half.
  • The players are starting to make their way back onto the field of play as the second half of this game gets ever closer. Atletico have been sent out early by Diego Simeone as they look to get back into this one.
  • Atletico, on the other hand, need to improve on that showing if they are going to get anything here. Villa has barely been seen and the same can be said of Turan on the left. Their best chance may come from some sloppy play by Helton. I'll be back in ten minutes with the second half.
  • After a single minute of stoppage time Howard Webb blows his whistle and the hosts lead at the break. They have deserved it for their play and on another day may have had more.
  • 45'
Juanfran loses the ball in his own half and Josue can run at goal. The defence backs off but the striker's shot is too high. Courtois is not happy with his back four and lets them know his feelings.
  • 43'
Martinez is proving to be a real handful this evening. This time he gets the ball on the floor and lays in Varela who shoots straight at Courtois; the goalkeeper making a good save with his legs.
  • 41'
Turan and Villa trade passes on the left hand side but the former's cross from the byline is blocked out for a corner. Helton tries to collect the resulting set piece but is beaten to it by Garcia, but the midfielder's header is just too high and crashes against the crossbar via the goalkeeper's glove.
  • 39'
Porto work it well out to Danilo on the right who not for the first time swings in an early ball. Gonzalez gets on the end of it but his header from the edge of the area is straight at Courtois who catches easily.
  • 37'
Atletico are starting to exert some more pressure as we enter the final few minutes of the first half. Yet to test Helton though.
  • 35'
Defour pops up on the left hand side and attempts to swing in a cross to the back post. There are no Porto men in the area though and the centre drifts out for a goal kick.
  • 33'
Best chance of the night for the visitors as Juanfran gets forward from right back. He then lays the ball back to the edge of the area where Garcia allows it to run for Turan. He isn't really expecting the ball though and fires over first time.
  • 31'
Almost a brilliant goal as Garcia wins the ball midway inside the Porto half and spots Helton off his line. His effort has the goalkeeper back-pedalling but it is just too high and lands on top of the net.
  • 29'
    Yellow CardJosue
A first booking of the night as Josue goes through the back of Baptistao. A fair enough decision by referee Webb.
  • 28'
Fernando gets forward before chipping the ball into Martinez. He again chests down and this time it is Varela who shoots wide via a deflection. The resulting corner is easily cleared by Tiago.
  • 26'
Baptistao has stayed down on the edge of the Porto box as Mangala cuts across him. Simeone is angry at the decision to wave play on and replays show he may have a point. The striker eventually makes his way back to his feet.
  • 24'
Helton almost puts his side in unnecessary trouble as he chests down a pass back before showing some quick feet to take the ball round Villa. The goalkeeper gets away with it this time but may not be as lucky next time.
  • 22'
Baptistao holds the ball up well on the right hand side before laying the ball back to Garcia. The midfielder's final ball is poor though, and runs harmlessly through to Helton.
  • 21'
Martinez has Juanfran twisting and turning but takes too long and the defender can block. Danilo then picks up on the rebound but his effort from distance is wayward.
  • 19'
Martinez is causing all sorts of problems and he again gets in front of Godin to chest into Gonzalez's path. The skipper can't control his shot though and it flies well over the crossbar.
  • 18'
Atletico are now going to have come out of their shell if they are to anything from this one. So far they have been happy to let their hosts have most of the ball.

    GoalJackson Martínez
GOAL!!! I said the free-kick was in a dangerous area and so it proved. Josue in fact delivered it with his left foot and Jackson Martinez got ahead of his man to head past Courtois. A deserved opener.
  • 15'
Free-kick to Porto in a dangerous area as Tiago commits a late foul on the edge of the box. Lucho Gonzalez is unsurprisingly over it.
  • 14'
Another deep Danilo cross is cleared by Juanfran at the back post. Porto are keeping the ball nicely but Courtois has almost been acting as a spectator so far.
  • 12'
Helton happy to trade passes with his defenders as Porto look to keep possession and build from the back. Good patient play though not created much as yet.
  • 10'
First effort of the night as a cross is swung in from the left which Varela can attack. He is under pressure from Godin though and he doesn't make proper contact, which allows Courtois to catch easily.
  • 8'
A first moment of contention as Garcia is caught in the air by an errant arm of Alex Sandro. Webb waves play on though as the midfielder stays down for a moment.
  • 7'
A low Gonzalez corner causes havoc, and Godin again has to throw his body in the way of a goalbound effort. Porto have started the brighter.
  • 5'
Young Baptistao is putting himself about early on, but is slightly over exuberant as he concedes a free-kick for barging into Alex Sandro.
  • 3'
Porto win an early corner as Juanfran heads a deep Danilo cross behind. Godin heads away before picking himself up to block Fernando's cross.

Howard Webb blows his whistle and Porto get us underway
  • The teams are ready and kick-off is now imminent...
  • English referee Howard Webb leads the two sides out and we will have the customary Champions League anthem and handshakes between the sides. Two well-rounded sides who know that a win here will give them a great chance of reaching the last 16.
  • Both sets of supporters are in bouyant moood as we approach kick-off in this Group G encounter. The teams are in the tunnel with their preparations all but over.
  • These two have previously met four times in the Champions League after they were drawn together twice in 2009, first in the knockouts of the 2008/09 campaign before again in the group stage to following season. Porto have the better record with two wins and two draws, and with their home record it would be a surprise to see them defeated by Atletico for the first time.
  • The visitors are still without Diego Costa as he sees out a European suspension, while Porto supporters will be pleased to see Steven Defour in the starting eleven after he picked up a knock against Guimares on Friday. There are now around 15 minutes until kick-off in Portugal.
  • Both these sides are unbeaten in their respective domestic leagues so far this season, with Diego Simeone's side still holding onto a 100% record after their 1-0 win over Real Madrid last time out. Porto have a similar record, having only failing to win one of their opening six fixtures. They are also imperious at home and will be confident of victory over their Spanish visitors.
  • Atletico: Courtois, Juanfran, Godin, Miranda, Filipe, Garcia, Gabi, Tiago, Turan, Carrilho Baptistao, Villa.
  • Porto: Helton, Danilo, Otamendi, Mangala, Alex Sandro, Defour, Fernando, Gonzalez, Josue, Martinez, Varela.
  • Before going into the details of tonight's fixture, the teams have been announced...
  • Hello and welcome to live coverage of Porto's Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid at Estadio Do Dragao. Both sides won their opening fixtures in the group stage, and after Zenit St Petersburg's draw against Austria Vienna earlier today, the winner here will take real control of Group G. I'm Tom Maston and I'll be guiding you through all the goings on in Portugal.
