With Amakhosi's form on a downward spiral, much of the blame has focused on their co-coaches, Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze. This has led to speculation around who is next for the Naturena hotseat. One of those names belongs to the 46-year-old Bosnian who is remembered in South Africa for his stint at TS Galaxy and his feud with Rhulani Mokwena.
After a run of poor results left the South African tactician under immense pressure, his players have responded by registering a huge win. Mokwena has recently suffered two big setbacks after the Algiers-based side were knocked out of the CAF Champions League and the Algerian Cup. The win has come after it emerged a club from Libya was keen to appoint the Mzansi tactician as their head coach.
The South African tactician is feeling the heat as the Algiers-based side struggles. The Algerian league champions are winless in the last four games: a draw and three defeats, which puts the 38-year-old under immeasurable pressure. Eyes are now on him to see how quickly he will arrest the poor run and help the club return to winning ways.
The honeymoon period is officially over for the 39-year-old coach as his MC Alger side were dumped out of the cup competition by CR Belouizdad on Wednesday. The pressure is mounting on the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns tactician, who has faced criticism of his style of play and is being targeted by Libyan side Al-Ittihad to take their hotseat.
The Libyan heavyweights have confirmed that they are in the middle of a high-stakes pursuit to pry the 38-year-old away from MC Alger. Despite the South African tactician being currently employed in Algeria, the Tripoli-based side have identified him as the primary candidate to lead their ambitious sporting project following the departure of Khaled Ben Yahia.
