À la 93e minute d’une rencontre tendue mais globalement pauvre en occasions, le Sénégal s’est vu refuser un but d’Ismaïla Sarr pour une faute jugée très sévèrement d’Abdoulaye Seck sur Achraf Hakimi. Quelques instants plus tard, le Maroc obtenait un penalty après une intervention de la VAR, qui avait décelé un léger tirage de maillot de Brahim Diaz par El Hadji Malick Diouf.
