    WHAT MOFOKENG SAID

“He’s boring,” Mofokeng senior told iDiski Times.

“No clubs, no chaos. If he’s not at training, he’s home. If he’s not playing for Pirates, he’s watching my team. Sometimes I ask myself – is this guy really in the PSL?

“We’re not controlling him. We’re guiding him. Helping him manage what comes with this life because, fame is a tricky thing. Football doesn’t just happen on the pitch. It happens in how you live, how you respect people how you carry yourself," added the former midfielder.

“We raised him to respect everyone. Even the guy on the road, he might help you when you’ve got a puncture or help push your car when you are out of petrol. So respect everyone.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

It remains to be seen if Mofokeng will be able to make a move abroad this transfer window.

This comes as the player has been linked with a move overseas while being linked with a move to La Liga giants FC Barcelona's reserve side.

However, such a move could be condemned for a player who has established himself as a full South Africa international and for someone who has illuminated the PSL.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR PIRATES?

Pirates are expected to regroup for pre-season training next week under new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.

That would be before flying out to Spain for pre-season training and Mofokeng would be part of that group should he not make a move abroad.
