    WHAT HAPPENED?

Relebohile Mofokeng's father, Sechaba Mofokeng, has insisted that it is time for his son to leave Orlando Pirates.

The father said he has been receiving a massive number of calls, all enquiring about the 20-year-old, whom he says can play for Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

    WHAT MOFOKENG'S FATHER SAID

“Everyone’s calling. Sometimes I can’t even eat. The phone won’t stop. But we’re not rushing. We’re praying. It’s about timing and readiness," Sechaba told iDiski Times.

“Why can’t he go? He’s done what was needed here. Now let him challenge himself again—new league, new people, new pressure. He can play anywhere—even for Barcelona or Real Madrid," he added.

“He’s not scared. He just needs a chance.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Just recently, Sechaba revealed that his prayer is to see Mofokeng leave Pirates and sign for a European club. The father says his son is ripe enough to test himself in the big European leagues.

However, he was categorical that he would not want to see the promising forward sign for a Saudi Arabian club at this point in his career.

The pressure to leave Bucs was heightened when former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Benson Mhlongo claimed there is bad company in the Premier Soccer League that might influence Mofokeng in a negative way.

Signing for a club outside the country, Mhlongo argues, would be the best decision for Mofokeng.

    WHAT NEXT FOR MOFOKENG?

For now, Pirates fans can only wait and see where their star ends up next season.

Although reports link him with a number of clubs, including Israeli sides Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa, the indication is that he could stay at Pirates for now.

The youngster is set to travel to Marbella, Spain, where the Sea Robbers will set up camp for their pre-season.
