    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Rhulani Mokwena has shared that he experienced racial abuse during the Moroccan Botola Pro League game between Wydad Athletic Club and Tanger on Saturday evening.

    In a thrilling league fixture, the Red Castle and IR Tanger played out to an exciting 2-2 draw at the packed Larbi Zaouli Stadium.

    During the post-match interview, Mokwena disclosed that some of Tanger's officials had made racial remarks towards him.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Wydad are in the fifth spot in the Botola Pro League standings, having gathered 15 points from ten matches.

    The 37-year-old tactician has been assigned the responsibility of turning around the club's fortunes following their underwhelming sixth-place finish in the previous season.

    However, Mokwena and his charges haven't found the right gear so far as they face ups and downs in the Moroccan top-tier league.

    WHAT NEXT?

    Considering the seriousness of the altercation between Wydad and Tanger, it is anticipated that the Moroccan Football Federation will carefully examine the issue before making its decision. 

    The Red Castle started the season poorly under Mokwena, however, they are eager to change their fate after the upcoming Fifa international break.
