As GOAL exclusively revealed, Benni McCarthy agreed way back in December 2024 to become the Harambee Stars coach.

The position fell vacant after former Kenya coach Engin Firat stepped down following his failure to help the team qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco later in the year.
