  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Colombian striker Jasond Gonzalez signed for Kaizer Chiefs - albeit on loan, from Bolivian outfit Santa Cruz.

However, he ended up scoring no goals in the 13 games he played for the Soweto giants across all competitions.

He later returned to his parent club but couldn't help keep them afloat despite scoring six goals in 19 league matches.

Always Ready signed him, and has so far found the back of the net three times in the last five league games.

The strikes came against Universitario de Vinto.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

After last weekend's win, Always Ready are top of the table with maximum points from five games.

It is early to celebrate, but with their current form, who knows, they might go all the way.

As Gonzalez is shining in Europe, Kaizer Chiefs are struggling to get a reliable striker.

They have not found someone to effectively lead their line and on Saturday, they lost 2-1 against Marumo Gallants to put their top-eight Premier Soccer League finish in jeopardy.

    WHAT NEXT?

Coach Nasreddine Nabi signed Tashreeq Morris from SuperSport United in the January transfer window to help shape up his attack after Ranga Chivaviro's struggles.

However, the lanky striker is yet to open his account for Amakhosi and might end up struggling like Ranga Chivaviro.

The Tunisian will surely get another striker in the South African summer transfer window.
