    WHAT HAPPENED?

SuperSport United hosted Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final game staged at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The teams played to a 2-2 draw after 120 minutes before the Soweto giants advanced following a 5-4 penalty win.

Christian Saile was among those who failed to hit the back of the net alongside teammate Vincent Pule, while Pirates missed theirs through Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo.

Despite the costly miss, the Swanky Boys' assistant coach Andre Arendse has jumped to his defence.

    WHAT ARENDSE SAID

“Head up, head up, nobody likes to miss a penalty," the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper stated.

"In fact, he didn’t miss it, it was saved, and so I think it’s important for him to understand that the penalty was saved and that’s it, that’s important for us to understand.

“So, we’ll lift him up, and we’ll go again. I know it’s never easy, but so much to be proud of today from the boys," Arendse concluded.

Kaizer Chiefs, who hope to end their decade-long trophy drought, will play either Sekhukhune United or Mamelodi Sundowns.

After winning the MTN8 three times in a row, Bucs are hoping to secure another domestic cup crown.
