    WHAT HAPPENED?

Orlando Pirates beat TS Galaxy 2-0 at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday to make it six Premier Soccer League victories on the trot.

They are currently six points clear at the top of the table but that gap could be reduced if Mamelodi Sundowns beat Cape Town City on Wednesday.

However, despite enjoying a fine run, the Buccaneers' coach Jose Riveiro is still not fully satisfied.

    WHAT RIVEIRO SAID

"There's a lot of things to refine, like you saw today [Tuesday], we were not better than Galaxy in some moments of the game, where we were dominated as well but we managed again to pull ourselves," Riveiro told SuperSport TV.

"One more time I think the people were incredible, pushing us, in the moments we were struggling a little bit and together we have managed to have a fantastic beginning of the season, something that we were crying for in the previous two [seasons].

"So now it's time to find the spaces where we can still do things better, which is not always possible in football and consolidate the good job we did in the beginning of the season."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Buccaneers' start to the PSL campaign is having them being mentioned as serious PSL title contenders.

They are bidding for the crown they last won at the end of the 2011/12 season and have been struggling to reclaim it.

Besides the bright start to the term, Pirates have convinced many that they can end Mameklodi Sundowns' stranglehold on the PSL title after also winning five Cup finals in two years.

They then return next weekend to resume their title push by hosting Richards Bay to try and make it seven league wins in a row.
