Chiefs' decision to loan out Zwane and Mashiane

Kaizer Chiefs loaned out midfielder Samkelo Zwane and utility star Happy Mashiane to spend the 2025/26 season at Siwelele FC.
The two players are fighting to turn themselves into regulars at Siwelele, where coach Lehlohonolo Seema opens up about what has been a drawback in getting the best out of his new players.

Seems opens on on the new signings challenge

"For me, starting him [Zwane against Pirates], it shows that he’s ready, and it’s not that he’s not there yet," said Seema as per KickOff.
"The challenge that we have with the players that we brought in is that they were not having enough game time. So now, we are working on a lot of aspects, that’s why we’re going to introduce them here and there.
"We’re going to be a few seconds slower in terms of decision-making and in terms of fight, but we know Zwane’s capabilities," added the former Orlando Pirates captain.

"So credit must also go to our conditioning department; those guys are working very hard."

    Convincing Chiefs coaches

While Zwane has already featured in the Siwelele starting line-up, Mashiane appears to struggle to gain the trust of Seema to start games.
But the season still has a long way to go, and that presents the players with opportunities to play more.
It is not just about them playing but getting back to the top of their game and returning to Chiefs even in the event that a new coach comes in next season.

    What comes next?

After the FIFA break, one of Siwelele's immediate tasks is facing Chiefs in a Premier Soccer League match on October 22.
However, Zwane and Mashiane are likely not to feature in that match to face their parent club.
