    WHAT HAPPENED?

Sekhukhune United have dismissed the reports suggesting that their head coach, Lehlohonolo Seema is facing uncertainty at the club.

Local reports emerged in recent weeks suggesting that Babina Noko's management is considering the option of dismissing the coach and hiring the former Orlando Pirates mentor Eric Tinkler.

However, Sekhukhune general manager Phineas Masisha has dismissed the rumours regarding Seema and Tinkler.

    WHAT WAS SAID

"At Babina Noko, when there's news to share, we will send out a statement to publications and radio and social media pages," Madisha said on Ukhozi FM.

"At the moment, maybe there's people outside who want to destabilize us, as they see the team doing well.

"At the moment, our coach is focused on the job at hand and he's working really well. We don't see any reason, at this moment, to speak about the coach."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

If Sekhukhune were to dismiss Seema, it would mark the second occasion they have done so since he was initially let go last season following disagreements with the club's management.

Since returning in August 2024, the 44-year-old coach has been doing well with Babina Noko, and the team is currently placed fourth in the PSL standings.

The Limpopo team lost 2-1 to Richards Bay on Wednesday evening, and this result could pile pressure on the Lesotho-born trainer as rumours about his possible dismissal persist.

    WHAT NEXT?

Sekhukhune are set to battle Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, March 8.

It will be another chance for Seema to silence his doubters.
