    WHAT HAPPENED?

Andile Jali last participated in a Chippa United official match in February 2025.

This comes as  Orlando Pirates loanee Siphelo Baloni has also not been featuring for the Chilli Boys since early March.

Jali's absence has, in particular,  sparked speculation after coach Thabo September initially said the midfielder is not injured, before making a u-turn in his remarks.

    WHAT SEPTEMBER SAID

“Siphelo is injured, Andile is on and off injuries sometimes he recovers and then just when you think he’s back, and then another injury, especially muscle injuries,” September told the media as per iDiski Times.

“But yeah, right now, they both are injured.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Currently placed eighth on the Premier Soccer League table, the Gqeberha-based outfit are chasing a top-half finish, and it is a moment they would need experienced players like Jali or determined rising stars like Baloni.

Also, for September, he would want to guide them to a respectable end in this campaign and break the club's tradition of easily firing coaches.

Chippa have struggled to keep a coach for an entire season, as September might want to be with them next season.

    WHAT NEXT?

After starting the season on a high note, enjoying regular football, Jali would be hoping to regain fitness and would probably be looking forward to next season.

Baloni, on the other hand, waits to see if the incoming Pirates coach will include him in his plans.
