    WHAT HAPPENED?

Tanzanian side Azam FC have tied down midfielder Feisal Salum to a two-season contract extension that will see him at the club until 2027.

The 27-year-old was reportedly an Amakhosi transfer target, and Nasreddine Nabi's admiration of the player fanned rumours that he was headed to Naturena.

The two previously worked together at Young Africans, and Salum has since signed a new deal at Azam.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

With Salum having extended his Azam contract, that would increase his market value should Chiefs pursue him.

The decision to bid for his signature will now depend on how much the Soweto giants value him.

But with Amakhosi already stacked with other attacking midfielders like Gaston Sirino, Mduduzi Shabalala, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Pule Mmodi, Ethan Chislett and Mfundo Vilakazi, they are unlikely to make moves for Salum.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHIEFS?

With the PSL transfer window closing on September 22, it remains to be seen if Amakhosi will bring in another player.

The Soweto giants have been in impressive form, which might leave Nabi satisfied with the material he has at his disposal.
