Orlando PiratesWHAT HAPPENED?
Relebohile Mofokeng has heaped praise on his new Orlando Pirates teammate Oswin Appollis for the assist against Pafos FC on Sunday.
Mofokeng scored the goal that ensured the Sea Robbers registered a 1-1 draw against the Cyprus outfit. After the game, the youngster revealed how the new Bucs' signing played a crucial role in him scoring.

“It was a perfect [pass]. I think he made it easy for me on the ground. It was a better touch," Mofokeng told SuperSport TV.
“When you are a winger, you must be able to play both [wings], you know. If you can’t play both, then you can’t be a winger. So, I think you can balance the two," he added.
Orlando PiratesWHAT IS MORE
On his part, Appollis explained why he had to pass the ball to Mofokeng even though he was in a position where he could score.
“I saw Rele already moving, and I saw the space between the centre-back and the left-back,” he said.
“So, it was going to be difficult if I hit it in the sky. I had to thread it through between the centre back and the left back. And it was a good touch by Rele to take it in front of him because if it touched him [wrongly], it’s a penalty," he added.
“You know, there’s a lot of work to be done, you know. What we wanted to win is positive. We did most of the stuff that the coach is asking, and we will just continue doing our best on the field.”

Appollis, signed from Polokwane City, is among the new players the Sea Robbers have brought on board before the 2025/26 season begins.
They have been signed in order to make the Soweto giants a competitive side that can successfully challenge for multiple titles.
What the Pirates' fans hope to see is that the new and the old players at the club gel together quickly to be ready when the season begins.
Could the Mofokeng-Appollis promising combination and output against Pafos be a sign that good times lie ahead for Pirates? Only time can tell.
