    WHAT IS MORE

PSL reigning champions are set to begin their campaign away as they are set to be hosted by Chippa United on Saturday, August 9, at Buffalo City Stadium.

AmaZulu will begin their season with a game against the league's debutants, Orbit College, at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Polokwane City and Magesi FC will battle at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

At the uMhlathuze Sports Complex, Richards Bay will host Marumo Gallants, while Pirates will be at home, Orlando Stadium, for a game against Sekhukhune United.

New outfit in the PSL Siwelele FC, who acquired SuperSport United's status in the top tier, will host Golden Arrows at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Two matches have been scheduled for Sunday, August 10, with TS Galaxy set to welcome Durban City at Mbombela Stadium.

Kaizer Chiefs will be away to Stellenbosch FC, with the game set to be played at Athlone Stadium.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Masandawana will be keen to start their title defence campaign with a win, hoping to go all the way again and eventually emerge the winners, which will be their ninth straight success in the PSL.

Pirates, who finished second to Sundowns again last season, will be keen to have a far better campaign this time around. The Sea Robbers are under a new coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, who has been massively backed in the transfer window, and that means the ambition is to successfully challenge for multiple trophies when the new season begins.

On the other hand, Kaizer Chiefs, who have concluded their pre-season in the Netherlands, are hoping to have a good campaign, unlike last season, where they struggled and finished in ninth place.

Nasreddine Nabi will be taking charge for his second season and will hope to translate the success seen in the Nedbank Cup to the PSL.

    WHAT NEXT?

Before the new season begins, teams that finished in the top eight bracket will engage in the MTN8 tournament.

Currently, most clubs are in their pre-season engagements, with Pirates set to face Las Palmas on Thursday.

Chiefs have concluded their trip to the Netherlands, where they played five games.
