Oswin Appollis should choose Kaizer Chiefs: 'He must go to Nabi's team because the boat is sinking and they need him more than Pirates do' - Fan Vote

Despite Percy Tau snubbing interest from Kaizer Chiefs and completing a move from Al Ahly to Qatar SC this week, the biggest transfer talking point amongst GOAL fans is the destination of Polokwane City's speedy winger Oswin Appollis.

The 23-year-old was a major target in the pre-season transfer window but somehow, despite bids from PSL and North African clubs, he was still at Rise And Shine when the window closed in September.

Now, with the January window open, there has been a lot of speculation in the media, that Appollis is wanted in this window by the PSL's big three: Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

We put the in-demand attacker's next destination to the vote in our WhatsApp channel and, despite many dissenting voices making themselves heard on our Facebook page, the result was clear.

While our WhatsApp group saw Chiefs emerge as the winners with just over 50% of the votes, on Facebook it was much more of a free-for-all with fans haggling over Appollis' final destination and what would happen when he got there...

With Doctor Khumalo adding his voice to the chorus of 'Appollis to Chiefs' it remains to be seen if Amakhosi can get a move done in this window.

There is an argument to be made that the 23-year-old winger should not be The Glamour Boys priority this window and they should focus all their efforts on a reliable striker to put away the chances they create.

In Chiefs' last five matches they have had 59 shots with only 22% on target which has netted them just four goals, a total that would be far higher if they had a lethal striker upfront whose goals would win matches.

According to former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns defender David Kannemeyer Appollis should ignore transfer offers in January and stick with Polokwane City for at least the rest of this season to protect his game time, development and his place in the Bafana squad.
