OFFICIAL: Kaizer Chiefs announce 11th signing as PSL Golden Boot-winning Bafana Bafana star Khanyisa Mayo joins Soweto giants

CR Belouizdad signed27-year-old Khanyisa Mayo to strengthen their attack, but the move hasn’t delivered as hoped. In the 2024/25 campaign, the striker featured in 41 matches across all competitions, returning just six goals and one assist.

That output fell well short of expectations for a player who had clinched the 2022/23 Premier Soccer League Golden Boot with 12 goals and two assists.   

Head coach Sead Ramovic went on to put Mayo on the transfer list. Now, the player has officially been unveiled by Kaizer Chiefs.

Amakhosi have already strengthened their frontline with Flavio Silva and Etiosa Ighodaro, and the arrival ofMayo adds even more depth to Nasreddine Nabi’s attack, becoming the 11th signing in the current transfer window. 

The Glamour Boys have made a strong start to the 2025/26 PSL season, collecting four wins and a draw to sit joint top of the table with Sekhukhune United. 

Having finally secured their long-time target, Chiefs will be looking forward to welcomingMayo with opened arms at their village.

The striker, in turn, will be determined to make an immediate impact and build on Amakhosi’s strong start to the domestic campaign.
