    WHAT HAPPENED?

Midfielder Sihle Nduli featured for 90 minutes as Orlando Pirates went down 2-1 to Marumo Gallants in a Premier Soccer League match at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Tuesday.

After initially taking the lead, the Buccaneers allowed their hosts to come from behind and collect maximum points.

Nduli feels they have themselves to blame for the loss they suffered in the City of Roses.

    WHAT NDULI SAID

"I think we started the game well," Nduli told Orlando Pirates' media team.

"We were able to create many scoring chances, but we only scored one. I think we should have finished the game in the first half and made things easy for ourselves.

"I think as the gents we ruined it ourselves, we gave away the three points because we created everything, then we conceded goals even small children wouldn't [concede]."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Tuesday's result was Pirates' second straight PSL defeat this season, and they remain winless in the league this season.

This was after they started the term on a high note by dismissing Polokwane City from the MTN8.

But the run in the league exerts more pressure on coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who is now pressed to pick his side out of this difficult run.

    WHAT NEXT FOR PIRATES?

Fans and football pundits are already discussing the future of Ouaddou as early as just three competitive matches into his tenure as Pirates coach.

That heightens interest in this weekend's MTN8 semi-final clash between Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, a match which is a must-win for the Soweto giants.
