    WHAT HAPPENED?

Khuliso Mudau has been at Mamelodi Sundowns for the last five seasons and is now being linked with a move away from the Brazilians.'

Masandawana are said to have received offers for the right-back from North African and overseas teams.

But former Kaizer Chiefs captain Patrick Mabedi has advised the Bafana Bafana star to consider joining the Soweto giants.

    WHAT MABEDI SAID

"He is a very good player. If Chiefs sign him they could have found a missing link in not only their defence but the whole team," Mabedi said as per Soccer Laduma.

"You know when I coached him at Black Leopards we used to use him either as a right back, right winger or even a central midfielder. That's how good he is. So, this could be the biggest move for Chiefs in recent times.

"Personally, I would encourage them to go for him. You know he comes from Sundowns who like playing the ball around," added the former Malawi captain.

"He is good in that and Chiefs need such a player who can help them build from the back and link up with their attackers. This could really be a good move for Chiefs [if they attempt to sign him]."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

For someone who is still on top of his game and contracted to Sundowns, Mudau would not come cheap for any club interested in him.

That would make Chiefs fork out a lot of money for him should they officially make a bid for the full-back.

For coach Naareddine Nabi, who has signed Thabiso Monyane, the chances of Amakhosi going for Mudau during the current transfer window appear slim.

    WHAT NEXT?

It is to be seen if Mudau will be selected for Saturday's trip to Chippa United after he missed the MTN8 quarter-final match against Richards Bay.

This is a player who would want to maintain his regular starting place at Masandawana and go to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with Bafana Bafana.
