    WHAT HAPPENED?

Mamelodi Sundowns loaned out Thembinkosi Lorch to Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, where he was reunited with coach Rhulani Mokwena

The Brazilians also loaned out Sipho Mbule to Sekhukhune United.

With the two players appearing to have no future at Chloorkop, they have been linked with Kaizer Chiefs, but former Amakhosi development coach Farouk Khan does not feel it is a good idea for the duo to move to Naturena.

    WHAT KHAN SAID

“What’s important is for Chiefs to maintain the team spirit, I wouldn’t advise them to sign Mbule and Lorch even if they were free [agents] to be honest,” Farouk Khan told Soccer Beat as per FARPost.

“The two players come with a lot of baggage, they are good players, but what they do off the field it’s going to influence what happens on the field.

“Chiefs once signed Khama Billiat from Sundowns, and he’s a very good player, but he came with a lot of off-field problems," added the Stars of Africa academy boss.

"So when I look at this, I don’t just look at the technical and tactical ability, I also look at the mentality and discipline because what makes a great team is players who are disciplined and don’t party.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Lorch has been a regular for Wydad Casablanca under coach Rhulani Mokwena and was recently crowned the club's Player of the Month for March.

His form for the Moroccan giants could convince Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso to include him in his plans for next season.

Meanwhile, Mbule has also been regularly playing for Sekhukhune, although he once ran into trouble with former coach Lehlohonolo Seema.

    WHAT'S NEXT?

Wydad are pushing to claim a spot to play Caf Champions League football next season and Lorch is one of the experienced players expected to help them attain that.

At the same time, Sekhukhune have a chance to finish the season third on the Premier Soccer League table and play continental football next season and Mbule is expected to add value to their bid.
